Dr. David Leblanc, the President and Chief Technology Officer of Terrestrial Energy will give a presentation on the physics and other key features of the technology and how Terrestrial is developing the design of its IMSRTM (Integral Molten Salt Reactor) to take to market in the 2020’s.
WHO: Dr. David LeBlanc, Terrestrial Energy
CONTACT: Derek Mullin, Branch Chair, CNS New Brunswick. DMULLIN@NBPOWER.COM
Dr. LeBlanc is a globally recognized authority on MSR technologies and has dedicated his career to the improvement and realization of advanced nuclear power systems, in particular Molten Salt Reactor technologies. His work has focused on the simplification of design and reduction of R&D requirements to realize this goal. He obtained his Ph.D. in Physics from University of Ottawa in 1998 during which time he focused on High Temperature Superconductivity and their application to fusion energy. He obtained long-term fellowship funding from Canadian Fusion Fuels Technology Project and later focused his interests on improving nuclear fission power. In 2008 he founded Ottawa Valley Research Associates Ltd. to advance this work and has filed patents relating to innovations in Molten Salt Reactors technologies that have specific bearing on improving and broadening the commercial application of the technology.
Please join us as we welcome Dr. LeBlanc to Saint John and participate in what promises to be an enjoyable evening of socializing and an interesting and informative presentation on the future of energy supply. If you plan to attend, please contact Derek Mullin at firstname.lastname@example.org so that we can confirm the number of attendees.
